Payroll Administrator

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to process payroll and to reconcile provider benefit premium invoices and payroll tax payments. Collect and review timekeeping information and issue paychecks that are complete and correct. Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Calculate wages and salaries
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt personnel
  • Collaborating with human resources department to maintain employee data, process new-hires and employee terminations.
  • Calculating pay rate changes.
  • Issuing tax forms and related documentation and assisting employees to complete them.
  • Reconcile and update payroll deductions such as benefits withholding, garnishments and levies, flexible spending accounts
  • Resolving issues employees have with timesheets and other payroll matters
  • Manage and initiate direct deposits
  • Maintain employee records in payroll system
  • Review and reconcile federal and state payroll tax deposits, including quarterly and annual payroll tax forms.
  • Reconcile W-2’s and ensure distribution to employees
  • Works closely with Human Resource department

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting or related business field.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll management or accounting is required. Must be able to understand accounting and financial concepts as related to job responsibilities.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. The noise level in the office is usually moderate.
